Know ye not that ye are in the Hands of God?
I know that we are all in the hands of God and He is taking care of us. How? Because I have seen that so much in my life this week in the simple things. Signs that are unmistakably from Him. And I wanted to share just a couple of these experiences that particularly impressed me.
This week I was nervous about going back to school and all the changes it would bring. The last day I was working in the temple, one of my fellow workers told that when I was in the chapel I needed to look at a specific painting on the wall and find what the little girl in that painting was pointing to. She was really excited about it, so when I got up there I looked for it. I couldn't figure out what she was meaning because there were two paintings on the wall in there, so I gave up. A few minutes later she unexpectedly came up and asked me if I had looked at the painting yet. When I told her I couldn't find it, she brought me over to the picture she was meaning and pointed it out. That's when I saw it. The little girl was pointing at a butterfly. My co-worker had no way of knowing what butterflies mean to me, but she was so excited and insistent to point it out. I felt that it was God's way of telling me He is always looking out for me, and will answer my prayers and comfort me even through people who don't even know that they are being lead by the spirit.
When I moved in on Monday, I was worried because I had to do it by myself. It was the first time my mom had not dropped me off. I called a friend to get some help picking up some boxes from my aunt's house, but when we showed up to pick the boxes up, my aunt wasn't there and we couldn't open the door (we found out later that it was just stuck.) My friend had to go, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pick up the boxes at all. Then, two other friends independently texted me and asked if I needed some help moving in. I got into contact with my aunt, and one of the friends helped me pick up the boxes. Then, the other friend came over and ended up helping me buy my books and find all of my classes. So, when I thought that I was going to be all alone and had to figure it out by myself, I ended up being with someone the whole day and having a lot of help. God was looking out for me.
My anatomy class has been turning out to be quite difficult. I was expecting that, but it was getting frustrating. I started praying for someone to help, and the knowledge to be able to help them, because I knew that I didn't just want to learn it for myself, I also wanted the opportunity to help others who were also struggling with the class. That day in anatomy lab, I had almost completely forgotten about that prayer. Then, a girl came in late so I scooted my chair over so there was room for her, and didn't think about it. We started working together and our learning styles really clicked. We ended up starting a study group together and having a lot of fun learning together. The next day she told me that she had been praying that the person who sat next to her would be at her same level, willing to work hard, and kind. She had answered my prayer and I had answered hers.
One evening this week, I was feeling kind of down because I wasn't sure if I had accomplished anything. There always seemed like there was more homework to do and I wasn't sure if I had done anything to help anyone else that week. I went into my room and said a prayer asking God to give me someone to help, and a few minutes later my roommate walked in. She was upset, and I was able to help her and share my dinner with her.
God is always there looking our for us, and I know that He will bless us when we need it. We just need to trust Him that all will turn out for the better. We are in His hands.
